The Department of Chemical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Tirana aims to provide in-depth and quality education in the field of chemical engineering, preparing qualified professionals, equipped with the theoretical and practical skills to handle and solve complex problems in the chemical industry and other related sectors.
Training qualified engineers: Providing in-depth and practical education in the field of chemical engineering, especially in the design, optimization and control of industrial chemical processes.
Developing scientific research and new applications in areas such as: industrial chemical processes, environmental protection and corrosion, development of sustainable technologies, materials engineering, energy and natural resources, etc.
Preparing for professional challenges and contributing/collaborating with industry in important areas such as: petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and food safety, materials industry, energy and environment.
The Department of Chemical Engineering plays an important role in linking chemical theory with industrial and engineering practices, providing an integrated education covering various aspects of chemical processes, engineering systems design and industrial process management. It also has an important role in the development of sustainable technologies and innovations in sectors such as renewable energy, waste management and water purification technologies.
Through the improvement of didactic teaching methods, as well as the improvement of the infrastructure and technical capacities of scientific research, the Department of Chemical Engineering aims to become an important reference structure for teaching methods in chemistry, for the assessment, control and monitoring of various environmental parameters, as well as a contributor to the national and international network of scientific institutions engaged in the relevant fields of expertise.
This department covers all Chemistry disciplines that are developed in all study programs of the Polytechnic University of Tirana.
