Mission of the Department of Chemical Engineering

The first cycle Bachelor's degree course in Chemical Engineering, which lasts 3 (three) academic years and 180 ETC credits, aims to train professionals equipped with basic skills (scientific and engineering) in the field of chemical production design and management.

Bachelor in Chemical Engineering is the first cycle of studies that is based on engineering education and on the basic and modern knowledge of its applications today. This profession, listed in the professional group with code 2145, belongs to the fourth level of the National List of Professions.

The first cycle studies "Bachelor in Chemical Engineering" aim to train students to be able to integrate advanced knowledge of mathematics, physics and chemistry, in theory and programming and to conduct research and develop, advise or direct commercial chemical processes and the production of a range of substances and products such as oil and its derivatives, food products and beverages, pharmaceutical materials, medicines or synthetic products.

The chemical engineer, as a profession, manages the maintenance and repair of chemical plants and equipment. He is also trained in the use of computer technology and complex modern software for the design, modeling, calculation and design of chemical industry processes.

Knowledge and competencies of students at the end of the curriculum

At the end of the study program, the future engineer is equipped with knowledge of:

1) Contemporary methodologies for the design and operation of industrial technologies for inorganic, organic, food chemical production, etc.;
2) Solving concrete design and management problems;
3) Chemical production methods, materials and quality standards and technical specifications;
4) Design of chemical plant equipment and design of production processes;
5) Tests and controls for the level of control of the chemical production process;
6) Calculate production costs and progress reports on production and management;
7) Develop technical security and environmental protection procedures in chemical production, etc.;
